Identity Crisis?

Whenever I question my whiteness, all I have to do is head over to Stuff White People Like, read a couple of entries, and it's confirmed that I am, indeed, white. For example, I love coffee, Mos Def, vintage anything, and recycling. I own a Mac and use it to scour for new independent musicians that no one knows yet. I want my children to be bilingual. I'm living in Japan. I enjoy having expensive sandwiches with A.P. and breakfast at trendy breakfast spots. I think marijuana should be legal, and I could easily be a vegetarian for the rest of my life....except for sushi. There you have it....definitely white.

I question my identity all the time. I love coffee, already had 3 cups and its 2.30pm. I love Mos Def, I hunt for vintage things in real life and online, I recycle, hell I have a compost bin in my Tokyo veranda, I use my ghetto ibook to look for indie musicians, hoping no one knows about them yet. I am bilingual, close to trilingual and I want my kids to be quadrilingual or whatever the hell you call it, I am living in Japan, have been for the past 8 years, I think marijuana should be legal everywhere, I could be a non-picky vegetarian, except for them sushi, too. However, I'm not white.

Anyhow, I love reading your blog. Keeps me entertained while I sit at this mind numbing NPO desk. x
